Why Should I Donate?
Thousands of citizens across Ontario have demonstrated their commitment to helping our clients overcome huge obstacles as they rejoin communities and strive to become contributing members. It is only with the support of our donors that we can continue to fund our Institutional Services and Family Transportation Program. John Howard staff members are working in prisons and assessing the needs of our clients. They are helping prisoners create realistic plans upon release, and ensuring that they have access to support once they return to their community.
Each year, more than 50,000 people in Ontario are helped by the Society thanks to the dedication and contributions of more than 1,800 volunteers and thousands of supporters.
“Though I can’t give money to the John Howard Society, I’m happy to give some of my time to the local office. They have odd jobs that they need help with and it makes me feel good to give back. They helped me a lot when I was having trouble finding a job and getting back on my feet”. – Former client and Volunteer
“We have been donating to the John Howard Society of Ontario for many years. We are very grateful to the Society for helping our son with his addiction problem. The staff worked tirelessly with him at times when we couldn’t, and it is to their credit that he is working and not using drugs today” – Donor
